The Church in Smyrna went through some very difficult, trying times. Whenever we face seasons like those, it can be tempting to throw in the towel. However, their example of enduring faithfulness is a poignant challenge to persevere in faith.
Laodicean Christians had the reputation of being “moderate” in their faith. Moderation can often be a good thing, but if it amounts to a watered down and anemic faith life, it becomes a liability. Jesus longs for us to have a heart that burns hot for Him and His purposes in the world.
Rev. Mueller, Executive Director of The Outreach Foundation, shares an update on how the organization’s trusted partnerships around the world are helping churches and congregations join in Christ’s global mission. As one of our keynote speakers for our 2026 Mission Conference, Rev. Mark Mueller highlights how Outreach Foundation is supporting kingdom work and spreading the gospel through its international ministry efforts, and encourages us to prayerfully consider how we are called to participate in mission work.
Not only have we as the church inherited a great history of faithfulness that has been passed down to us, but we also have an opportunity to embrace the faith and leadership of a younger generation who is coming up behind us. Generational transitions may not always be easy, but they often yield fresh perspective and fresh voices to the journey of faith. Not only do we who’ve “walked the walk” for a while have something to pass along in our faith, but we also have the opportunity to learn from them and grow with them.
