Mosaic Series
11/07/2021 | One Mission
Speaker: Dr. David Goebel
Theme
We don’t have many “missions” in the Church—just one: to help folks come to know, love and serve Jesus.
Scripture
Matthew 28:16-20 (ESV)
16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
10/31/2021 | One Race
Speaker: Dr. David Goebel
Theme
While we may all hail from different parts of the world and celebrate our diverse makeup, there truly is only one race—the human race—and, more importantly, it is Christ who enfolds us all into His family and makes us one.
Scripture
Ephesians 2:11-22 (ESV)
11 Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— 12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, 16 and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. 17 And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
10/24/2021 | One Father
Speaker: Dr. David Goebel
Theme
The Bible often uses the imagery of households or families to describe metaphorically life in the church. Thankfully, no matter what kind of experiences we’ve had with our families or origin, we have in God a good, loving, and merciful father. It’s our common bond in him that unites us as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Scripture
Psalm 103:1-14 (ESV)
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
3 who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5 who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.
7 He made known his ways to Moses,
his acts to the people of Israel.
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
9 He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
10 He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
13 As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
14 For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust.
10/17/2021 | One Baptism into One Christ
Speaker: Dan Wonneberger
Theme
Baptism is the sign of the deal God makes with us to draw us in and perfect us. While there are many ways to be baptized and many beliefs about it, there is only one baptism and only one lord. When you are baptized you are united with Jesus and other Christians. Do not divide what God unites.
Scripture
Galatians 3:23-29 (ESV)
10/10/2021 | One Faith
Speaker: Dr. David Goebel
Theme
Modern day Christians stand in a long line of those who’ve come before us. Those folks have faithfully safeguarded and passed along a faith that it is now our turn to steward for this and future generations.
Scripture
Jude 3-4; 17-25 (ESV)
Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
17 But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18 They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” 19 It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. 24 Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

Speaker: Dr. David Goebel
Theme
There are many “lords” that vie and compete for our loyal allegiance, but there is truly only ONE who is worthy of the surrender of our lives to His loving leadership.
Scripture
Colossians 1:13-20 (ESV)
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
09/26/2021 | One Spirit
Speaker: Charles Burge (Christian Aid Mission)
Theme
The basis of true unity is spiritual, and God is focused on bringing the world together under His rule. And it is happening. Today.
Scripture
Ephesians 4:1-6, 11-13 (ESV)
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
09/19/2021 | One Body
Speaker: Moses Ngungu
Theme
Christ’s followers from all walks of life are reconciled to God in one body, which when all its members are held together by every joint, the world gets to witness both the truthfulness of Christ and God’s love for them.
Scripture
Ephesians 4:4 (ESV)
There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—
Ephesians 4:15-16 (ESV)
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
Psalm 133:1 (ESV)
Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!
09/12/2021 | Walking Worthy
Speaker: Dr. David Goebel
Theme
Our calling to become part of the Body of Christ is a calling to a whole new and radically different way of life.
Scripture
Ephesians 4:1-6 (ESV)
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
