Our Lord was tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin. In His testing, He identifies with our weaknesses and understands our struggles. We are comforted that with the power and leadership of His Spirit, the Lord always has a way of escape for those who trust in Him.
Jesus made clear that His departure was necessary in order for the Holy Spirit to come. The Disciples had been relying on Jesus’ physical presence, but they eventually had to learn to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. We face a similar challenge. Learning to rely on and trust in the leading of the Holy Spirit can be challenging, but also rewarding at the same time.
