02/8/2026 | Adopted

Speaker: Pastor David Goebel

Adoption is a beautiful gift. The imagery of being adopted into God’s covenantal family is prominent throughout the New Testament—especially as it pertains to us non-Jews who have been “grafted into” the family. As adopted ones, we are now sons and daughters of the King and, as such, have the privilege of inviting others to join the family too.

Romans 8:12-17 (ESV)

12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

01/18/2026 | Forgiven

Speaker: Pastor David Goebel

Just as we couldn’t have “chosen” ourselves, so we also can’t extend forgiveness to ourselves for the sin in our lives. Only God can do that. In Christ, that’s precisely what He’s done. At our core, we are a forgiven people. Forgiven people learn to forgive.

Romans 5:6-11 (ESV)

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

01/11/2026 | Chosen

Speaker: Pastor David Goebel

God is a God who chooses to be in relationship with humanity. In Christ, we are a new “chosen people.” Like the chosen people of old, we too are “blessed to be a blessing.” How are you blessing others in your life right now?

Ephesians 1:1-4 (ESV)

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
